That does not diminish the work Arne has done here… Rather, it is indicative of the need for a different approach. Arne leaves with our gratitude, with a Premier League title to his name, and with the knowledge that he and his family will always be welcomed back at Anfield.”

The statement also highly praised Slot’s leadership and “compassion” during an emotionally challenging period for the club following the tragic loss of Diogo Jota.

With Slot’s departure, the pressure now shifts entirely onto Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes to secure a swift appointment.

All eyes are on Andoni Iraola, who is a free agent after a highly successful stint at Bournemouth. However, Liverpool will face stiff competition for his signature, with Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen also heavily courting the Spaniard.
