Dutch GP: Hakim Danish Fights Back from P16 to Secure Brilliant Top 7 Finish at Assen

Malaysian Moto3 sensation Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli delivered yet another masterclass in resilience, fighting his way from the back of the grid to secure a phenomenal seventh-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday.

Navigating the legendary and highly demanding TT Circuit Assen, the teenage rider demonstrated immense tactical maturity and sheer grit to overcome a difficult starting position, adding critical points to his rapidly rising World Championship campaign.

A Masterclass in Overtaking

Having endured a tough qualifying session that saw him start from P16 on the grid, the AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider faced a mountain to climb.

However, Hakim Danish wasted no time when the lights went out. Showcasing an incredibly aggressive yet calculated riding style from the opening lap, he sliced through the field, systematically picking off his rivals one by one.

Within the opening phases of the 25-lap race, the Malaysian prodigy had already defied the odds to breach the leading pack. His rhythm was undeniable, and at one point, he even surged into second place, puting himself firmly in contention for back-to-back podium finishes following his historic, maiden Moto3 victory at the Czech Grand Prix in Brno just a week prior.

Late-Race Drama at Assen

As the race entered its final, frantic stages, the battle within the leading group intensified. With just three to five laps remaining, Hakim Danish looked poised to repeat his podium heroics.

However, his bike appeared to lose some momentum in the dying moments of the race, making it difficult to fend off the fierce slipstreaming attacks from the chasing pack on Assen’s fast straights.

Despite crossing the finish line initially in 10th place after a chaotic final lap, post-race drama shook up the standings.

Several riders ahead of him were slapped with penalties by race stewards for various infractions, subsequently promoting the Malaysian star to a well-deserved seventh place in the official final classification.

The race was ultimately won by Spain’s Maximo Quiles of the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team, who clocked a winning time of 33 minutes 51.800 seconds.

He was closely shadowed by Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP’s David Almansa (+0.513s), while Marco Morelli completed the podium lineup in third place (+2.433s).

Rising Through the Championship Ranks

The hard-fought result in the Netherlands yields highly valuable championship points for Hakim Danish, further cementing his status as one of the most exciting young talents in international motorcycle racing.

The points haul from the Dutch GP officially catapults him to sixth place in the overall Moto3 World Championship standings, bringing his seasonal total to an impressive 82 points.

Coming off the back of breaking Malaysia’s decade-long victory drought in grand prix racing last week, this latest performance proves that his breakthrough win was no fluke, but rather the benchmark of a world-class competitor.
