Malaysia’s promising young table tennis talent, Habib Adrian Muhamad Suhaidin Azhar, secured a commendable runner-up finish at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Youth Contender Tashkent 2026 in Uzbekistan.
Competing in the competitive Under-11 Boys’ Singles category, Habib’s stellar run in the tournament saw him march all the way to the grand final.
In the championship decider held at the Sports Complex Yunusabad, Habib put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell short against local favorite Amir Shiriev, who sits just one spot above him at World No. 4. The Uzbekistani home-ground advantage proved decisive as Shiriev captured the title with a straight-sets 3-0 victory, wrapping up the match 7-11, 5-11, 8-11.
Despite missing out on the gold, clinching a silver medal on the international stage marks another significant milestone for the young Malaysian paddler as he continues his development against the region’s top tier youth talents.
