Dania Elisha, Faiz Danial Awarded ITTF Elite Scholarships Once Again for 2026

The consistency of Malaysia’s young table tennis gems, Dania Elisha Mohd Airul and Muhammad Faiz Danial Mohammad Hizir, continues to receive global recognition as they have once again been selected as recipients of elite scholarships under an international development program.

In an official announcement by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), both national prospects were named in the 2026 cohort for the prestigious “With The Future In Mind” (WFIM) scholarship program.

This selection carries significant weight as ITTF celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The WFIM program is a cornerstone of the ITTF Athlete Development Model, focusing on talent identification, high-performance preparation, qualification support, and the education of high-potential young athletes.

Dania and Faiz are part of an exclusive group of 34 young athletes selected from five continents (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania). The recipients, born between 2008 and 2014, were evaluated as having the brightest prospects for achieving the “Olympic Dream.”

Through this scholarship, Dania and Faiz will gain access to critical development opportunities, including:

  • High-Performance Training: Intensive sessions at world-class table tennis centers of excellence.
  • Competition Exposure: Support to participate in international tournaments to boost world rankings.
  • Academic Assistance: Ensuring a balance between their sporting careers and formal education.

This achievement is a testament to their previous stellar performances in Southeast Asia and the WTT Youth Contender series, proving that Malaysian talent is on the right track to competing with the world’s giants.

ITTF Sports Development Director, Mikael Andersson, emphasized that these scholarships prove the world body’s continuous commitment to supporting youth talent.

“These athletes are the individuals who will write the next chapters of this sport’s history,” Andersson stated in the official ITTF release.

Retaining their spots in this elite program confirms that Dania Elisha and Muhammad Faiz Danial are firmly on the global radar. With this continued support, Malaysian sports fans can look forward to seeing the nation’s table tennis stars shine on the Olympic stage in the near future.
