Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) secured a monumental victory after being crowned the overall winners in the Team General Classification (Team GC) category at the prestigious Tour of Japan 2026.
Navigating a highly competitive field in the UCI 2.2 category Asian Tour race, TSG concluded the grueling eight-stage event with a cumulative time of 46 hours, 32 minutes, and 43 seconds.
The Malaysian continental powerhouse successfully held off local favorites Team Ukyo, finishing 36 seconds ahead of the Japanese outfit, while Italian side Solution Tech Nippo Rali rounded out the top three.
TSG head coach Saiful Anuar Aziz praised his riders’ immense discipline and tactical execution throughout the week, highlighting that defending their collective lead after the critical, climbing-heavy Mount Fuji stage (Stage 5) was the key turning point of the entire tour.
The team’s historic triumph was heavily anchored by stellar individual performances, with two TSG riders securing impressive top-10 finishes in the Individual GC standings, and a third narrowly missing out:
- Fergus Browning (AUS) – 5th Overall (+1:25s)
- Adne Van Engelen (NED) – 7th Overall (+2:10s)
- Mathias Bregnhøj (DEN) – 11th Overall (+3:05s)
The formidable six-man lineup also featured invaluable efforts from British rider Zeb Kyffin alongside Malaysia’s own rising talents, Muhammad Shahmir Aiman Abd Halim and Kee Zhe Yie, who played pivotal roles in controlling the peloton and protecting their climbers across Japan’s challenging terrains—from the opening time trial in Sakai to the fast-paced final circuit in Tokyo.
A massive congratulations to the riders, coaching staff, and management on delivering a phenomenal collective result, serving as the perfect celebration for the team’s landmark 15th anniversary!

“I never thought I’d enjoy training this much until joining Sportif. The coaches are supportive and really know how to bring out the best in you.”
