The Malaysian national Silat contingent delivered a masterclass in martial arts excellence, emerging as the overall champions of the Belgium Open Pencak Silat International Championship 2026.
The landmark event, which celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Belgian Pencak Silat Federation, saw Malaysia dominate a field of elite competitors from nine nations, including powerhouses such as Indonesia and Singapore.
Malaysia’s victory was secured through an incredible tally of 11 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals. This achievement highlights the technical mastery of the national athletes across various divisions, which ranged from Junior and Senior levels to Artistic categories like Tunggal, Ganda, and Regu.
The tournament, hosted in the town of Schoten, adhered to official PERSILAT standards and served as a vital hub for cultural exchange between Asian and European practitioners.
The success of the contingent has been hailed as a reflection of the continuous efforts of coaches, officials, and supporting parties in preserving and elevating the traditional art of Seni Bela Diri Warisan Bangsa on the global stage.
This triumphant outing serves as a powerful momentum builder for the national squad as they look toward future international championships, further solidifying Malaysia’s reputation as a world-class leader in the sport of Pencak Silat.
