The Malaysian national barebow men’s team has set a phenomenal new world record at the 2026 Barebow Asia Championship.
The trio of Khairul Anuar Mohamad (631 points), Norhisyam Ismail (618 points), and Mohd Zaidi Bin Hashim (615 points) combined for a total of 1864 points in the 216-arrow 50-metre round at the Shah Alam National Sports Complex. This score has been officially ratified by World Archery.
The achievement adds 18 points to the previous world record of 1846, which was set in November 2022 by the United States. The high level of competition in Shah Alam was further highlighted as the second-ranked team from Vietnam also surpassed the old world mark with a score of 1855 points.
This milestone represents the greatest achievement in the history of Malaysian barebow archery on the international stage. The championship continues at Stadium Panasonic until May 3, 2026.
