Malaysia’s national shooting squad delivered a clinical performance at the Lapua IWK Berlin Shoot 2026, clinching gold, silver, and bronze medals to wrap up a successful campaign in Germany.
Leading the charge was Nurul Syasya Nadiah Mohd Arifin, who emerged as Malaysia’s standout performer of the tournament. She secured the gold in the 10m Air Pistol Women’s category after a tense showdown, eventually defeating France’s Mathilde Lamolle to claim the top spot on the podium.
Malaysia’s success then came via Johnathan Wong who proved his mettle by securing a bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s event.
Wong then teamed up with Joseline Cheah for the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. The duo displayed excellent coordination to secure the silver medal, finishing just behind the French pair in a closely contested final.
The competition featured a massive field of 484 athletes from 22 countries, making Malaysia’s presence in the top tier of the results even more significant. The national squad’s ability to secure medals across individual and team events underscores the growing consistency of Malaysian shooting on the European stage.
This successful outing in Berlin serves as a vital momentum builder for the team as they prepare for upcoming major international championships later this year.
